Quality Commenting 101

Hello everyone,

Welcome to my guide called “Quality Commenting 101”! As implied in the title, this post will have everything you need to create a high-quality comment, including comment starters and more. Let’s get started!

Part 1: How to Leave a Comment

You can’t create a high-quality comment without knowing how to leave one! Leaving comments on posts are easy.

  1. Find the post you want to comment on. Some blog themes will have a link on the bottom to comment. Some blog themes will have links on the side. The blog that I am commenting on has a speech bubble icon but just search for the word “comment”. (Below: HMSTani’s Blog)
  2. Once you are in, time to write a quality comment!

Part 2: Comment Template

Your comments should be formatted like a letter. Here’s a simple template that I use most of the time when I write comments.

Dear/Hello/Good Morning <Blog Name>,

Comment Starter (Wow/Cool/etc.) (a few sentences about the post)

(A connection)

Please comment on my newest blog post! It’s about <insert topic here>! <Insert link with HTML or plain link>

Bye/From/Sincerely,

Your name

Fill out this template and you’ll have a great, high-quality comment!

Part 3: Comment Examples/Comment Do’s and Don’ts

Comment Example 1:

Dear Thomas,

Wow! I didn’t know that elephants can’t jump! (Comment starter) I think it’s really sad though. (Connection. As long as it makes sense, you can arrange the parts any way you want.) I also heard that elephants can’t go more than 15 mph. I hope you post more animal fun facts! (Sentences about the post)

Please comment on my newest blog post about being Eco-Friendly! Here’s the link: Emilialovesnature.edublogs.org (Link)

Bye, (Closing

Emilia

Comment Example 2:

Dear Maya,

Cool! I didn’t know that the new edition of 8-Bit Cats came out! (Comment starter) I can’t wait to play it! (Connection) My favorite character in 8-Bit Cats is Coco Cat (maybe because it’s my real name, who knows?!), but I also like Mega Meow as well. Did you find all the cat kibble bags in the last 8-Bit Cats? I’m missing one more! (Sentences about post)

I hope you comment on my newest post! It’s about 8-Bit Cats, just like you! Check it out here: “Athousandflyingpotatoes.edublogs.org” (Link)

See you soon! (Closing)

Coco

Which Comment is Higher-Quality?:

Dear Lisa,

Oh no! I didn’t know that we make so much trash each day. I really hope more people read this post and figure out how much trash we really make! I wonder if we make even more trash that we don’t even know about.

OR:

Dear Mimi,

After reading your post, I realized how hard lucid dreaming is. I tried it last night, and I think it will take a lot of practice. It’s really amazing  to me how you can induce a lucid dream that easily! When I get a lucid dream, I think the first thing I’ll do is fly or visit Paris! Thank you for this super insightful post!

I think you’ll have a very interesting read on my post! It’s about how much water we use. “Butterflybumblebee.edublogs.org”

Goodbye,

Lisa

Answer:

Number 2! I hope this was very obvious. Number 1 was very redundant and plain. Answer 2 had a connection and many other sentences about the post.

Part 4: Conclusion

Thank you for attending Quality Commenting 101! See you on my blog soon!

Keeping Balance: My Message 2018

Hi everyone,

For 2018, I am creating a message.

A lot of people feel like they’re burned out every day. There’s schoolwork, homework, extracurriculars, projects, and more. Sometimes you don’t feel like doing anything. A lot of people give up halfway, or maybe you just feel like nothing you do will matter. It’s tiring and draining when you’re overloaded with work.

One thing most of us don’t notice is keeping a balance. You may think you can get through life by just burning through everything, but that’s wrong. You need to make sure your body and mind are talking together to make sure you’re taking care of yourself. If you keep running, you’ll get tired and always feel nauseous and icky. If you just sit around and use your mind too much, your mind will be filled with tons of thoughts, you’ll feel dizzy, and you won’t feel like doing anything for a long time. If you don’t talk to other people, you’ll feel lonely and you’ll become less motivated. It’s all about balancing everything.

This may seem like a lot to take in, but by creating this one habit, you’ll be ready. This habit is called “Sharpen the saw”. There are four points.

  • Physical. Eating healthy, exercising, and resting.
  • Social/Emotional. Making social and emotional connections with other people.
  • Mental: Reading, writing, learning, and teaching.
  • Spiritual: Spending time in nature, meditation, music, art, or doing things for other people.

By following these points, you can make sure you’re healthy while being happy and maintaining connections with other people.

I guess you know what my theme is going to be! The theme of my blog is going to be about balance. I know I’m not the best at balance, but I feel like I’ll learn as well. I’ll talk about meditation, my favorite ways to relax, how to use your body and calm your mind, and more. I hope you stick around!

~❤~ Final Post of the School Year ~❤~

Hello everyone!

In this post, it is the final post of the school year. I’m going to do a post about my school year!

  1. What I enjoyed the most about this school year:

I enjoyed seeing my friends and playing with them. Even though that is not the only thing I enjoyed this year, it is something that I mostly enjoyed. I also enjoyed a lot of my resource classes, like Japanese. The topics this year were really interesting, so I liked that too. There are more things that I enjoyed, but I can’t list them all! :3

2.  What you would have changed if you could redo this school year:

If I could redo the school year, there would be a lot of things I would redo. I would mostly work harder on my math. I would also maybe try new choice elective classes. I would also redo some of my presentations or homework. I have also messed up a few things in classes so I would fix that as well.

3.  What you’re looking forward to next school year:

I’m looking forward to new choice elective classes. I am also looking forward to new topics in school. The Japan Study tour is also something I am looking forward too. However, I am really interested in the next Challenger Mission, if we will ever have a new one. I hope we do! 😀

I hope you enjoyed this post! See you next time! ♪┏(・o・)┛♪

~☆~ SBC Week 9: Random Word Favorites! ~☆~

Hello!

Today for this SBC post I’m doing “favorites”. Instead of listing some of my favorite things, I’m going to go to the Random Word Generator and get some random words. Then I’ll list my favorites according to those words!

  1. Morals

(These are all from Aesop’s fables :3)

  • Flattery is not proof of admiration. (The Owl and the Grasshopper)
  • Much wants more and loses all. (The Goose with the Golden Eggs)
  • Slow and steady wins the race. (The Hare and the Tortoise)
  • No disguise will hide one’s true nature. (The Donkey in the Lion’s Skin)

2. Socks

Please don’t judge. I don’t choose these words ;-; These are my socks by the way…

  • Bunny socks
  • Minty colored smiley face socks
  • Blue smiley face socks
  • Bunny home socks
  • Bunny socks that HMSTani gave me for my birthday!

3. Dinner

  • Spaghetti
  • Steak
  • Ramen (?)
  • Chicken soup

4. Dreams

->>THESE ARE GOING TO BE WEIRD.<<-

  • I was walking around and I saw a big pit in the middle of my backyard and… jumped in it. (Bonus points: I was upside down when I woke up.)
  • My dad was in a banana boat surrounded by crocodiles, and my mom was in a swan boat sailing away with a wooden oar and I was eating grilled cheese? I don’t know anymore… (._.)

5. Chocolate

  • Milk
  • Caramel
  • Raspberry

I hope you enjoyed this post! I didn’t have any ideas for favorites, so I hope this was sort of unique!

~☆~ SBC 8: Game Time ~☆~

Hello!

Today’s post is about game time. I’m going to tell you which blogs I visited!

  1. fengfanw618’s Blog

I commented on their “I don’t like pizza” blog post. I commented on it because it was really unique. A lot of people like pizza, so it stood out a lot. It might’ve been a shock to some people though. ;D

I left this comment:

Hi!

This was a really interesting post! Pizza isn’t one of my favorite foods, but I still enjoy it. I also don’t really understand putting pineapple on pizza, but hey, there’s some other really gross toppings too! Check out my blog? :3

2. mckenna8a’s Blog

I commented on their “Great Balls of Fire-the World’s Most Hated Pianist” post. I commented on it because I play piano and the title was really creative.

Hey!

This was really cool! I play piano so I enjoyed it more. You wrote the post really well. Thanks for teaching me something today! 😀 Could you check out my blog?

From,

Hmsskye

3. 24camillem’s Blog

I commented on their “Alphabet blog” post. I commented on it because it probably took them a really long time and there were a lot of things I also like in there too!

Hello!

I really liked this post! It was really creative and I can tell you put a lot of effort into it. I think I like apples more than bananas. A lot of the things in here are my favorites too. Check out my blog?

~☆~ SBC Week 7: Visiting Blogs ~☆~

Hello!

Today’s post is about visiting and commenting on blogs!

I did the visiting activities.

I visited HMSTani’s Blog. I commented on her “Quotes” blog post.

The reason why I commented on that post is because Quotes are really inspirational and can change your life.

I think I enjoyed the freedom in this activity today. We got to chose which activity to do, two types of one activity to chose from, and we could comment on any blog we wanted.

I didn’t really like how this was sort of a repeat from last year’s activities. I’d really like to have different activities so we can be creative each year!

Thank you for reading! Goodbye! ♪┏(・o・)┛♪

~☆~ SBC Week 6: Quotes ~☆~

Hello everyone!

Today’s post is about quotes!

I personally love quotes because they can be inspirational, funny, or give good advice. You can also make pretty graphics with them!

I’m turning two of my favorite quotes into pictures!

Kind words do not cost muchYet they accomplish much. – Blaise Pascal

Take care of yourself. You only have one you. – Chibird (Online webcomic artist)

That’s it! I used Picmonkey and their graphics to create these pictures. I wish the second one was clearer because in my opinion, the graphics are better. I hope you enjoyed! Goodbye! ♪┏(・o・)┛♪
