Einstein’s Riddle

Hi everyone,

Everyone knows Einstein as a genius scientist. You know, the dude who created E=Mc^2? That dude? Yeah. Apparently, he created a very challenging riddle, and I’ll share the riddle with you today!

One night, a famous heirloom was stolen from the museum: a nearly 600-year-old painting. The police chased down the thief to a row of 5 identical-looking houses, each with a different color. Upon interviewing all of the residents, you have these pieces of information:

  1. The Brit lives in the red house.
  2. The Swede owns the bluebird fan.
  3. The Dane drinks Tea.
  4. The green house is next to the white house, on the left.
  5. The resident of the green house drinks coffee.
  6. The person who likes gardening owns the tea set.
  7. The resident of the yellow house likes reading.
  8. The man living in the center house’s favorite drink is milk.
  9. The Norwegian lives in the first house.
  10. The man who likes painting lives next to the one who owns the ancient flute.
  11. The man who owns the necklace lives next to the man who likes to read.
  12. The man who likes camping also drinks juice.
  13. The German’s hobby is photography.
  14. The Norwegian lives next to the blue house.
  15. The man who owns the flute has a neighbor who’s favorite drink is water.

Using these clues, you have to piece together each person’s house color, nationality, drink, hobby, and most importantly, their heirloom. Can you solve it? 😀

Information:

House Colors: Blue, green, red, white, and yellow

Nationality: Brit, Dane, Norwegian, German, Swede

Drink: Juice, coffee, milk, tea, and water

Hobby: Gardening, reading, photography, painting, and camping

Heirloom: Fan, tea set, flute, the necklace, and the painting

– Solution –

With all of these random bits and pieces, you may find it hard to even get started. However, there’s one trick to this puzzle: Creating a chart. By placing information into a chart and using your deduction skills, all you need to do is think logically to solve this mystery.

This is my chart:

First, use the information you have first. For example, you know the Norwegian lives in the first house, so write that down in your chart.

Go down the list and use all of the information in the same nature as the example, and read through the list again and solve the other clues with the new information in your chart.

Ta-da!

You hop into house number four and find the painting. After searching the house, you restore the painting to its rightful place: the museum. Hopefully, you’ll get a raise, but for now, you’re off to solve new mysteries.

I hope you enjoyed this post! Goodbye!

The heirlooms are replaced by animals, the hobbies are replaced by the brands, and juice is replaced with beer):  Brainzilla: Einstein’s Riddle
